FAQs
When was SF Canna founded?
SF Canna was born more than two decades ago in San Francisco’s Sunset District—a breeding ground for the highest quality cannabis in the world. We first made SF Canna marijuana available on retail shelves in the fall of 2020.
Where are SF Canna products cultivated?
All SF Canna premium flowers are proudly rooted, grown, dried, trimmed and bagged right here in San Francisco, CA.
Where does SF Canna source its strains?
We breed our premium cannabis in-house and maintain our own nursery to ensure our flower is of the highest quality, in terms of flavor, appearance and potency. We source the genetic materials of our strains from reputable peers with a shared commitment to quality, as well as our friends and loved ones within the San Francisco cannabis community.
How many strains does SF Canna have?
We have over two decades of experience refining our growing techniques and building our genetic catalog to produce industry-leading crosses and strains. At the moment SF Canna offers six strains of premium flower, including: 5 Plus, Cherry Guava, Dubble Stuff, Eye-5, Gelato 41 and Zerbert.
Where is SF Canna sold?
Premium SF Canna products are found and sold at licensed retailers such as Cookies and through convenient delivery services like Eaze throughout Northern California, Southern California and the Central Valley. Locate a retailer near you.
Is SF Canna available outside of California?
Currently SF Canna products are only sold at licensed retailers in the state of California—but we’re always evaluating opportunities to develop new partnerships with people who align with our values and rigorous standards of quality.
What are the typical flavor profiles of SF Canna strains?
SF Canna strains are rich in gassy terpenes creating tropical aromas and candy-like flavors on the palette. Our flavor profiles compliment the beautifully deep purple hues of our flower strains.
What makes SF Canna flower unique compared to other premium marijuana brands?
At SF Canna we are constantly testing and retesting our strains for a minimum of 9 months. Only the best of what we test is selected and shared with the public. This process ensures the highest quality standard for all of our packaged flower.
How many pounds per light does your cultivation typically yield?
We achieve a minimum of three pounds per light used, but often see higher results.
What medium does SF Canna use for cultivation?
Over the years we’ve experimented with all mediums of cultivation, and rockwool cubes have consistently met our needs. The cotton candy-like fibers of the molten rock allow for an ideal level of moisture and aeration in the roots of our marijuana plants and are easily recyclable. The cubes prevent pathogens, help seeds germinate, and are compostable as we seek to be responsible and mindful of our operation’s impact on the environment.
How many lights does SF Canna use?
Our facilities range in size. The smallest contains 60 lights dedicated to flower while the largest operation uses 500 lights.
What type of lights are used to grow SF Canna strains?
At SF Canna we use both types of growing lights, but dimlux double-ended lights consistently give our plants the best structure. Currently, our favorite lights are the Gavita CT 1930 LED lights. The innovative design on the Gavita LED light fixtures prevent heat damage and ensure an equal distribution of light. Gavita lights are specifically made for horticultural purposes and the full spectrum of healthy light they provide promotes vigorous growth and helps our plants reach their full potential.
What nutrients does SF Canna use?
We use Athena to keep our plants safe and healthy. Athena’s products are dedicated to growing premium cannabis just like we are. Each formula from Athena has been developed and tested by legacy growers, and their biological recipes continue to uplift the modern grower. Our plants are placed on a steady feed schedule of Athena nutrients that helps us to deliver consistent, premium cannabis.
